Grid-EYE-breakout

The Panasonic Grid-EYE® is a type of thermal imaging sensor that can detect the presence of people or objects based on their heat signature. It consists of an 8x8 grid of 64 thermal sensors, which allows it to provide a detailed temperature map of the area being monitored. The built-in lens has a 60 degree viewing angle. The Grid-EYE features compact surface mount design using MEMS thermopile technology and offers digital output (I2C) for thermal presence, direction, and temperature values.

The Grid-EYE is typically used in applications such as building automation, security systems, and energy management. It can be used to detect the presence of people or objects in a given area, as well as to monitor their movement and temperature. This information can be used to trigger automated responses or to send alerts to relevant parties.

The Grid-EYE is designed to be low-power and easy to use, with support for various communication protocols such as I2C and SPI. It is also able to operate at a wide range of temperatures, making it suitable for use in a variety of environments.

Applications for the Panasonic Grid-EYE include digital signage, security, lighting control, kiosk/ATM, medical imaging, automatic doors, thermal mapping, people counting, robotics, and others. Overall, the Panasonic Grid-EYE is a versatile and reliable thermal imaging sensor that can be used in a wide range of applications.
